Related: About this forumhad a skin biopsy today to determine more about my dreadful rash appearing on
arms and legs. My dermatologist want to know if this could be related to an auto immune disease or any meds I am taking. He said it was definitely not skin cancer and prescribed a skin cream which he said should help. It sure hasn't so far. He did say it was light sensitive whatever that means. I suspect it is also affected by the "caregiver stress" that I experience often.
I hope to hear from him soon...

(2,925 posts)I had the same thing,Dr. said mine was from gloves I used, but I had rash
on other spots too. I can believe the "caregiver stress" though,
what a horrible, heart breaking time. With some sweet times mixed in .
For you .

Could you have been exposed to a plant or mineral you are allergic to, at least for now?

(63,912 posts)winter skin because my arms and lower legs are the only place I use it. So that is suspicious right there.

(23,156 posts)Several years back I would occasionally get an odd sort of rash, more of a group of small pimple-like protrusions on the skin of my hands. Here's how to picture it: Make a fist, and look down at the part formed by your thumb and the rest of your hand. Those "pimples" were mainly in that area, although they often extended across the back of my hand. They didn't hurt or itch. It happened several times, and I eventually concluded that it was some kind of a reaction to the soap in certain public restrooms, although since I never did consult with a dermatologist I could be wrong. I can say that this used to occur back when I lived in a different city, and in the 8 years since I've lived where I am now, this has never happened again.

(63,912 posts)so I should stick to the cream. It's a little better but I'll see him soon and let him look at it and we'll talk about what the next step is.
