supply.
I only had to pay $40.00 but what the hell do people do without coverage?
Even that $40.00 will force me to cut back someplace----I'm on SS and have a small pension.

(9,154 posts)possibly WebMD, suggested it was Albuterol. Requires a prescription in the U.S., so whatever the MBA's creative-accounting funny-money retail price is, one must also figure the cost of the doc visit.
I miss Primatine Mist. It was more effective than Albuterol, in my experience, and no prescription required.
I keep finding myself meditating on what it will be like to suffocate to death, because I can only afford to pay a doc's office visit copay once per year maximum. Hopefully the suffocation won't be painful.
BTW, not all insurance pays 100% of ER visits anymore. Had to go there a few months ago. Doc said insurance would pay 100%, because it was a true ER. After 4 months or so, got a copay bill for 2 grand. I think I won't be able to visit a doctor for about 3-4 years, until that is paid off.
But, thank god, I've got insurance, even though I can't afford medical care. It is truly a blessing.

(111,318 posts)insurance companies played hardball with everybody else. They've been cost shifting to the point that insurance coverage is now useless for just about everybody who isn't in the executive class.
I was guessing at the price of albuterol. I think I got socked thirty bucks back in the early 90s and high tailed it down to Juarez and got ten of them for three bucks apiece. Five years later I repeated it.
These days I'm not having to use anything because tracking down the cause of a rash and avoiding it also cured most of the wheezing.

(1,267 posts)I'm on it, and thank goodness for insurance (my co-pay for it is $56) -- while I was unemployed / uninsured, I was having to pay full price for it. That was a major ouch.

(111 posts)generic inhaled steroid....you probably don't need the long acting bronchdilator that's included....but make your doctor explain why you need the latter.....make him/her show you the studies, then you decide if it's worth it.........I think you'll just go with the cheap generic flovent
