((Bloomberg radio said AP is reporting a case of the South African Covid-19 variant was found in South Carolina. Looking for a link.))

At this point in time, there is no known travel history and no connection between these two cases. Both are adults; one from the Lowcountry and one from the Pee Dee region. To protect their privacy, no further information will be released.

They're sequencing nearly 100% of the variants in Denmark. We're doing a tiny fraction here.

You can bet this one, the Brazil variant and the UK variant are all out there and spreading.

The good news is that the vaccine has been effective in Europe for all of them. The bad news is that Dumdum fucked that up, too.
