Update on my head injury

So I got a CT and MRI. I do have a mild concussion from a really bad blow to the head at work. I had to report it to my supervisor and they had to go over footage to see if I was at fault or I did something I shouldn't have been doing that caused it. But my coworker hit me on accident when they weren't paying attention. Now gotta figure workers comp and medical leave.

I got a splitting headache still. They said to just take basic tylenol and rest. Nothing physical or mentally tolling on the body. Thank you all who told me to go. No idea what would have happened if I didn't. Just scary to be up in a hospital without my parents with 2 masks on.

I had a concussion or three when I was younger--rode my bike into a parked car when I was 12, took a bad spill skiing, hit my head when I fell roller skating at 14. I'd have blanks after. Some things I don't remember, but they told me about.

Your mileage may vary.

Better safe with a head injury than sorry.

Ice pack, tylenol, and egad, work on a Saturday??? Never!

I'm 30 so maybe it won't hurt me like that where I'm gonna have amnesia. I just wonder if hormonal drugs will do anything to effect me? I worry. I worry constantly. And yet I'm not following the other thing. Nothing emotionally tolling on the body.

Not full on amnesia, but you might have trouble, or not.

Why it's important to get checked!

If you worry, worry constantly, that's an anxiety issue.

I had heart trouble young, which is a really good time to have it, since I was healthy. I learned that if it's good for the heart, it's good for the body in general. Take it easy. Rest up, and take a day off once in a while. It's Spring!!

Like that's scary to have heart issues. It scares me too. Yes I have anxiety and depression. So it's always emotionally tolling on me.

I hate to think what could have happened. But I had to be diagnosed or else no medical leave. Plus working with a India concussion? Jesus

When I walked into the wrong door and fell down the flight of stairs slamming my head against the wall near the end of the basement stairs at my old house . I got a concussion and broke my tibia too.

I was going to go to bed and nurse my injuries as I crawled up the stairs but my roommate who heard it all woke up from sound sleep, he saw blood coming out of my scalp as I neared the top of the stairs too dizzy to get up..for a few minutes and he said nope you ain't going to bed and called 911.

While we were waiting for the ambulance his sugar bottomed out and he passed out.

It was a blessing the ambulance arrived 2 seconds after he passed out, I was too dizzy to get up,to get the sugar but I tried to.

Ambulance guys
walked in asked me who needs help here, I said both of us. Lol.

If you do have a microscopic bleed anywhere, you want it to stay microscopic and then heal NSAID drugs thin the blood and can make a microscopic bleed bigger.

Hospitals aren't as scary as they used to be now that staff have been vaccinated. Yes, you can shed virus if you are vaccinated, but only in very small quantities. That means masking up for the duration, but the chance of making anyone else sick is diminished.

So for the next few days it's going to be Tylenol, rest, quiet activity that you can tolerate. If you play rough sports, lay off them for a few months (yeah, that one hurts, but reinjuring the brain in a short period of time can cause huge problems).

Post concussion headache, even months out, isn't unusual. If you get things like double vision, nausea or vomiting, ER. That's really rare, though. Most people heal just fine.
