100% Juice, Tart Cherry.

Got some today after reading about the health benefits. First sip kind of made me pucker. Dropped in an ice cube and it is great.
Had a tart cherry tree in the yard when I was young. Taste took me right back to those days.

Deliciously tart and not too sweet in a delectable crust. Cherries might not be as healthy in pie, but oh was that good!

I jog 4 or 5 miles 3 or 4 times a week. Been having a little hip pain and thought it might help. I’m alright if I stretch before and after a run.
Doc told me to keep moving. Good advice for all ages.

X-ray shows one hanging around. I use to get them zapped and broken up before they pass. Got a pacemaker a few years ago, so can no longer do that.

And I saved the juice. I was going to do cherry infused cookies or something. Maybe I should just chug it.

A bit with sugar free sprite myself. But now I have to watch the sugar free products. Might just go to club soda. I started bc heard it was helpful for pain/headaches.

there should be plenty of juices that are 100% juice, no added sugar. Keep in mind that juice is high in natural sugar even without any being added so don’t have more than one cup a day.

and I spent my summers taking pits out to freeze the cherries for year round pies in Phila. One year my dad tried making wine and the damn bag full over and flooded the laundry room. No pies or wine after all that time pitting them...my sister and I are still pissed off!

We can't find those cherries since we moved to CA and believe me, my sister tried them ALL since she is a tart cheery freak. Canned, juice, fresh all suck in comparison.

They grow lots of tart cherries in Michigan, but they caned most of them and sent them to France.
I still like pies made with tart cherries best.
We had one tree and it was a race to pick some before the birds got them all.

There is no real juice, just watery red liquid.

When I was growing up my family never bought sweets and snacks and they never allowed us to eat out, no pizzas, McDonald's, etc. EVER! Since I loved to cook (thank you Easy Bake Ovens) I had to sneak my real pie making skills after school, before my parents got home from work. It wasn't easy to pick, pit and make and then cook them but I was determined. I made mini-pies but was too small to reach into the real oven so my older sister had to take them in and out and she benefited by getting half of each one. After she went to college I was big enough to do it myself and once I made a whole peach pie and hid it in my closet. I ate the whole thing in under 3 days, YUM!!! And I only weighed less than 100 pounds throughout those years.

Years later my parents went back to our old house outside of Phila and the cherry tree was GONE, as were most of our trees; black walnut, peach, plums, Oak (which I personally grew from an acorn), Dogwwods, Maple, etc.) It breaks my heart.
