NUTRITION SCIENCE'S MOST PREPOSTEROUS RESULT*Back in 2018, a Harvard doctoral student

named Andres Ardisson Korat was presenting his research on the relationship between dairy foods and chronic disease to his thesis committee. One of his studies had led him to an unusual conclusion: Among diabetics, eating half a cup of ice cream a day was associated with a lower risk of heart problems. Needless to say, the idea that a dessert loaded with saturated fat and sugar might actually be good for you raised some eyebrows at the nation’s most influential department of nutrition.'>>>

So I searched a little.

Evidently you get similar results with fermented dairy products. The results were from longitudinal studies that tracked people over 20 years. Results hold for some people with Type 2 diabetes.

It does appear that some thing in milk products can help a percentage of people reduce their risk.

But fun stuff. Shows how little we know about nutrition and the human body.

When I buy ice cream I go for quality over quantity and normally keep it out of the house. Here there are way too many good gelato stands in the summer for ssfety.
