We got the new Covid Booster today along with Flu shots.

I went to pick up husband’s prescription at Walgreens. While there I asked when the new booster would be available and they said they got it today and asked if I wanted one. I said yes! Plus I’d love to get my husband and sister in. It took a few minutes but the pharmacy tech set up the appointments for ‘later that day’ and gave me paperwork for the 3 of us. I drove home, filled out the paperwork (2 mins per person) and back we went.

Husband has COPD so I’m thrilled to get the new booster so quickly along with flu shot.

during the last booster. I am thinking of changing pharmacies at this point. I had an appointment, filled out paperwork and they said I was under 65 so tough shit, no booster for you.

Had to point out that I noted asthma, etc., on the form. He said, “Oh, then I guess you qualify”. He clearly hadn’t bothered to read the form beyond my birthdate. That was this spring and was my first time using pharmacy for the Covid vaccine. I had been using the drive-through set up by our county until they stopped doing them. I’ve listed all my underlying conditions each time and nobody’s ever questioned me until then.

The CDC lists many “underlying conditions”, including asthma, being overweight, smoker, etc. I would think half of America would fit into some category, but it’s all self-reporting and not sure why a pharmacy would question it now that there’s plenty of shots available for everyone. I’ve had other people say that they were told they couldn’t get it because of age and I’ve pointed them to the CDC pages to view the underlying conditions that qualify.

On a side note, Fred Meyer pharmacy almost gave me the wrong shot the other day. Good thing I asked “that’s the HepB, right?”, because it wasn’t. They had grabbed the wrong thing. Lesson learned, I will always verify from now on!

Husband got it (88) and I considered trying to talk to pharmacist about getting it to protect husband, but then it wasn’t long until talk of this one started up. Good luck!

Only a sore arm, per usual for me, and minor feeling a little off. Prior COVIDs all made me unwell, but not terrible, for 12-24 hrs.

Early Covid shots gave me chills and made me not feel well for around 12-24 hrs. This go around arm isn’t quite as sore as usually and only feel very slightly off. So much better. I got them both in the same arm so I’d be able to sleep on the other side. As usual husband had zero side effects and no arm soreness. Good Luck!
