Foyle's War. If you haven't seen the series, you are missing something truly great.

We watched the penultimate episode tonight. We are sad to realize there is only one more to rent (Netflix disc)....though apparently they are now filming new episodes!

The writing, the insights into WWII, the acting, pacing, plots - mesmerizing. One of the best things we've seen in years, if not ever. We've liked Michael Kitchen since his work in Out of Africa and Enchanted April, and he really shines in this series - rarely has an actor communicated so much with so few words!

Loved how it showed what everyday life was like during rationing. Wanted to feed Sam our supper every episode.

Because I just didn't want to see another British war series. But I read a review here and gave it a try. I'm so glad I did. This is a wonderful series. Great insight into the average person's life during the war. I second your recommendation.

Except for the multi-part episodes, there is really no need to see it in sequence.

Highly recommended.

When Netflix put it on Instant a couple of months ago I did an unexpected weekend long marathon. I love shows like this where I JUST have to watch the next episode.
