Question about Harlan Coben series

I just started "Stay Close." It's the second series of his I've watched and was wondering if the plot is the same in everything he's written:

Woman is happily married with a couple kids. There's a hint to a dark, mysterious former life. She has an encounter with some bad guys and she kicks some serious ass. Then her past is reviewed in bits and pieces. She's dragged into a deadly struggle from her previous life.

Did I get it right? Is all of his stuff this formulaic and predictable? Should I keep watching it?

Keep watching the various series.

I live in NJ so I'm always trying to figure out where the story was originally placed.

There is something really off about them, and yet despite the idiotic tropes and absurd plot devices, they can be amusing. Just don’t take them seriously.
