Sci-Fi Action buffs. "Equilibrium" was a fun movie.
I thought it was a pretty good movie, overall. Some of the Christian Bale fight scenes were a bit over the top. But, the movie was pretty well done. Interesting premise. Here's Netflix description:
In a dystopian future, a totalitarian regime maintains peace by subduing the populace with an emotion-suppressing drug, and "sense offenses" are punishable by death. When an enforcer skips a dose of the medication, it stirs in him a desire to revolt.

(5,400 posts)It has the same director. I saw it at the theater and thought that with a bigger budget (lots of exposition was substituted for actual scenes) and a tighter script it would have been great. Ha, I later read a few reviewers that said the same thing.
It has some great moments and a great look and Milla is amazing.
Wimmer changed up the gun-kata a bit in Ulraviolet, IIRC he said he wanted Milla to use a more fluid style than Bale used.
Equilibrium click below is a spoiler.
Less so for the Ultraviolet clip
You have to be amazed at how Cameron Bright can have nearly the same role in this and the X-Men movie, and both released in the same year.
It's nice to see another fan of Equilibrium!
