Bloodline, a Netflix original

Couldn't even make it through the first episode on this one. I'm not big on the family saga thing anyway, but when Sam Sheperd began to fumble his way through the obligatory patriarch speech, that was the end for me.

I'm sure there are people who will love this, but all I could foresee was the old (very old) story of the venerable patriarch, the matriarch who actually runs things, the world weary oldest offspring who smooths the waters, the hot head sibling, the black sheep sibling and various other siblings, cousins and offspring of all of the above embroiling themselves in family/community feuds. And, of course, along the way someone loved will die and someone (who shouldn't) will get pregnant and agonize over abortion, ultimately deciding to keep the child against all odds… etc.

Gak.

I had a hard time with it at first, but then it just grabbed
me and I got so absorbed.

I find myself wondering how it's going to go down with
those kids once reality sinks in.
