Prime Suspect (original UK version)
Simply stellar British police series starring Helen Mirren. A bit older but oh-so-worth-it! I have only seen Series One so far and can't wait to see the rest.

(4,483 posts)Since we finished Shetland, we've been searching for a series to watch. We've been watching Father Brown simply because there are five seasons (not that it's a *bad* show).

(243 posts)Endeavor (outstanding), Inspector Lewis, and original Morse series....all involve overlapping characters at various stages of the police-inspector journey. All set in Oxford I believe. Enjoying Foyle's War as well!
Shetland is addictive, will get to George Gently in due time.
So many wonderful series, so little time! LOL.

(1,945 posts)Loved that series. I see that there is a 4th season, so I hope it won't be too long before Netflix picks that up too.
Happy Valley is another excellent British crime series. Very intense. For anyone that has never seen the original British version of House of Cards, do give it a watch. Way better than the US version imo. I always recommend it.
You can't beat the original Prime Suspect. I think I need to go back and re-watch it too.

(243 posts)of Happy Valley. It was so great! So far further seasons have not come out on DVD--I mostly watch DVDs from my local library although I also have streaming from Amazon. I will see about getting more of it elsewhere eventually.
