"The West Wing"
Binging on Netflix. It still holds up. And damn, it's just so comforting to watch.

(4,033 posts)Whether I agree with them or not, they were honest and were doing what the absolutely believed was best for America.
Some of my favorite highlights:
-When the first daughter was kidnapped (I didn't particularly care for the arc), but the President temporarily surrendered the office because he couldn't be a father and President at the same time. There was no VP at the time so the Republican Speaker of the House took over. Even though he disagreed with the President on many issues, he didn't use his temp role as POTUS to push through his agenda. Honorable.
-When Toby's card was found in the pocket of a homeless vet who had frozen to death on a park bench overnight and Toby arranged to have him buried with honors in Arlington.
-When they were having a big 'do' for an Economist and they kept telling him before the 'do' to 'keep it simple' and at the very end realized the Economics just isn't simple and told the Econ guy 'be as complicated as you have to be'.
-When Jed took on a sanctimonious Evangelical woman and quoted the bible at her asking about his neighbor working on Sunday, selling his daughter, where he should sacrifice a goat. And then told her that she was in the President's house and when the President stands, everyone stands, and glared at her until she stood up.
