NORSEMEN......A comedy from Norway........

I have seen this comedy from Norway pop up on my Netflix feed. Thinking it was some boring drama in the likes of VIKINGS from the History Channel, but I was wrong. Who knew Norwegians could actually be funny?

In 790 A.D., the Vikings of Norheim have a hectic schedule of power grabbing, pillaging, plundering, enslaving others, and solving problems with violence. Where life is brutal, tough, gruesome, and unfair. Which is how they like it. A story of people in our time , but living during the era of the Vikings where evert day choices have dramatic consequences that make for great comedy material.

Olav, Orm, Arvid, Rufus the Roman actor, Liv, and Freya the Shield maiden grow on you as each episode unfolds. Be prepared for uncontrollable urges to laugh.

I am into Season 2. My favorite character is Freya. She kicks ass.

Some of the physical brutality makes me cringe. When I sense it coming I tend to look away. Every time they get me after I think the danger has passed and I am stuck with a face full of full on gore. Outside of that, I enjoy this show.
