El Ministerio del Tiempo (Ministry of Time)

A Netflix Spanish series, but for people like me has subtitles

Currently binge watching. It is set in Spain and focuses on a group of three who time travel using the Ministry of Time's doors.

It is entertaining, informative and a great little series.

From Wikipedia:
The Ministry of Time is the best kept secret of the state of Spain: an autonomous government institution that reports directly to the Prime Minister. Its patrols have to watch the doors of time so that no intruder from other eras can change history for their own benefit.

The series follows the assignments of the Ministry's newest patrol: the one formed by Army of Flanders soldier Alonso de Entrerríos, 19th century student Amelia Folch and 21st century Samur paramedic Julián Martínez.

Really hoping a fourth season is made.

Sadly, I don't think a fourth season will get made, from what I've heard.

I am, in general, a sucker for time travel series, though Watched Timeless immediately after this.

Clever premise, and nice to have a slant on non-US history.
felt a bit lightweight, reminded me of Columbo or New Tricks, something you watch for enjoyment and pleasure, rather than intensity.

Alonso de Entrerríos is one of my favorite television characters ever. He is true to himself in a world gone mad around him.

The chaos in the story lines reflect the chaos in the actual production. The writers handled it all remarkably well, and an unintended consequence is that it makes the series more realistic. In real life there are few graceful story arcs.

The deliberate avoidance of techno-babble was refreshing. There are certainly scientists, engineers, and historians in the background investigating this peculiar form of time travel but their work is rarely mentioned and never explained.
