Still struggling on weekends.

Monday just can't come soon enough. I just want to go to bed early most Saturdays. And some Fridays too. But I usually hang in there and head up to bed early with a bowl of ice cream and watch something amusing on my laptop. I used to really look forward to weekends. Now I hate them!

Is filled with cliches but they are all true..this too shall pass....etc. one day/hour/minute/sec at a time. You can do it....we all have faith in your ability..

If sleep helps then sleep, if watching comedies helps then watch away... whatever it takes is what it takes

I too, watch a lot of funny videos to get away from it all.

I like the idea of heading up to bed with some ice cream. Wish there was more I could do.

Get some rest.

Especially on weekends. Weeknights aren't nearly as bad. I've been sober for almost two years, so I guess I'm doing something right. SMART meetings help a lot as well. Our ZOOM group on Saturday mornings is great. A bunch of very cool and supportive folks. I'm truly grateful for them.

You can do it. Seems like you have a good support group and SMART is a good program.

I've been sober for about 2 years as well. I know it can be hard, but I take it one day at a time.

Last night was pretty rough. I ended up heading up to bed at around 8:30 to watch tv and eat ice cream. It's pretty bad when I look at my watch in the afternoon and say to myself, "Huh, only six more hours and I can go to bed!" Sometimes Monday can't come soon enough.

I got through it as well. We do the best we can. It just sucks wherever you look, there it is. Like a ghost haunting me. I just have to close my eyes and fight the fear and move through it as if it was not there. Eventually, it gets a little better.

I keep thinking back on how much I enjoyed the beer and wine buzz on a warm summer night. Then I remember how much it used to piss off my wife and how I couldn't just get a mild buzz, but had to drink until I slurred my words and would fall asleep in front of the tv. Much better to have my wife not hate me, that's for sure.

I also apologize to everyone for not checking on this sooner. That poster should have been blocked immediately.
