I took all of my accrued vacation time, and then in June I made it official. I've never been happier. No pertinent health issues, here, but only because I left my job before that happened.
I had good pay great hours, and some of the worst management ever, in the history of the world. And a hostile, aggressive co-worker about whom they would do NOTHING. The stress of dealing with that, plus also the extra stress of caring for and dealign with the issues of immediate family members who did not survive significant health issues (3, just this year), was killing me.
I went to a little get together with former co-workers, this week, and each and every one of them commented on how great I look - so much more relaxed and healthy. That convinced me I did the right thing.
I've been saving for years, and have enough money invested and socked away that, if I stay healthy, live responsibly and simply, I should be fine.
