sorry for being slow on the uptake ( which happens to be one of my side effects).

I am glad you found something that is effective and pleasant to use.

The timing was good..lots of teeny mews and furry cuddles as the week went to hell.

We had to send the bestest cat in the whole wide world over the Rainbow bridge in June.
Then the cancer thing hit in July.
Mr. Dixie did not want to get a cat refill until we knew if I had to have chemo, so I seized the opportunity to make a deal.
No chemo, I can has a kitty.

turned out, my birthday was election day ( and all I got was a tiny fingered orange vulgarian.....)
and 2 kitty brothers.

Happy days indeed.

brothers....6 weeks....one is Sylvester black and white, with incredibly long eyebrows, the other is fluffier, black , with a light grey ring of fur running around his upper chest to shoulders..exactly like those big chains you see in pics of Henry the 8th.
Blue eyes changed to sea green a couple days ago.

They keep me smiling, have been marvelous soothers during this post election weirdness.

We have one old Golden Retriever to complete the menagerie.

How about you??

19. We have Missy

She's a very fat cat, about 3 years old. I've never had a cat eat herself into such chubbiness before! We have her on a diet now; she gets one-half cup of her Purina One daily...and so far, may have lost one pound. When my daughter saw her for the first time she couldn't stop laughing. Missy just choked the humiliation down with food...

One of the women across from us in the chemo treatment pod started visiting with my husband and I.
( reminder: my husband had exactly the same thing you did. (Stg 4 HPV caused BoT cancer)

He used it for a few times, but still complains. I tell him to use it before meals, but he says with all his taste problems it makes it worse.

My husband's last radiation was Oct 5th, last chemo was Oct 3rd.

12. He's got a long road ahead. How old is he?

The older he is, the longer the recovery. I'm Seventy one, so healing has been slow.

His doctors say he is doing great. He stopped taking all pain medication two weeks ago ( slow withdrawal ) and all his blood work has been normal. He is starting to get his taste back but he still complains a lot.
He was pretty lucky in that he was very healthy before all this.

15. surprisingly good

Although he still uses the feeding tube once a day, this is mostly because of food taste, not swallowing problems.
He has always been able to swallow, although for a while there it was pudding and other soft food.

I'm really encouraged that he has done so well. We are just waiting for a final PET scan on Dec 30* for a re-staging.
Then he will get his PEG removed.

* this is a little earlier, but our Doctor was so kind to schedule it at the end of Dec instead of Jan or Feb. so that our insurance would pay the full amount.

I do want to say that you have been so helpful to me by telling me your story.
I would repeat some of the things you said to my husband and it gave him some hope that all would turn out fine.
I appreciate you!
