Very sorry. It's bad enough we have cancer, but additionally maddening when we have to deal with all the side effects and issues related to treatment.

My wife tried the pig thyroid years ago, she went back to sythroid.

It takes awhile to work out the dosage, but it works well once through that trial/error period. Also, some have better luck with the name brand vs generic, and vise-versa. Doublecheck when picking up your script refills so you're aware what type you're on. They switched on my SIL and her dosage had to be adjusted because it seemed the generic barely worked for her. Unfortunately her insurance company stopped covering the brand name.

Synthroid (and others) are easy/cheap/work well. Many of us have hypothyroidism, and take daily supplements. YES, changes in energy. (MUCH easier to deal with than damage to salivary glands.)

I should be getting the Throid this Monday.
