I just passed 5 years since my breast cancer diagnosis (April 18) - {Updated 4/26}

with NED. Which should be cause for celebration!

BUT - my sarcoma (diagnosed 12/4) may be growing a new tumor. I finally pulled the trigger on asking the doctor to see me earlier than my quarterly appointment to have a more experienced set of hands evaluate whether I'm feeling a regrowth through the graft (about shoe leather consistency) - or it is just my imagination.

Fortunately my treatments have been much less intrusive than most, but I'm still tired of this.

Update 4/26 - the CNP can't really feel what I'm concerned about. (No big surprise - about half of the breast cancer doctors couldn't feel the diagnosed cancer 5 years ago.) BUT - I did talk him into an ultrasound now, rather than after watching it for a few more weeks. Sheesh. Shouldn't be that hard. This crazy thing went from invisible to stage 2 in 5 weeks. I'm not really willing to wait for another 8 weeks to see if what seems like a new growth is anything to worry about.

There is a great deal of research now about a plant based diet to avoid breast cancer or breast cancer reoccurrences. If you’d like me to send you some links either reply here or direct message me.

Best of luck! 💕

I mostly eat a plant-based diet already (and close to keto to control diabetes).

The breast cancer is an old family "friend." I'm the 5th case in 4 generations. All post-menopausal. Two generations are stll alive (3 of the cases - mom @ 23 years and ~12, and now me @ 5 years. My grandmother's was the most aggressive - she lived 2 decades after diagnosis (with metastasis), but died with - not from - breast cancer, my great-grandmother's was diagnosed shortly before her death at ~99.

The one that worries me is the sarcoma, which is out of the blue and very aggressive.
