I wish someone would make a PVC pipe colon device. Crohn's SUCKS

Had my latest round of Chemo March 16, in the hospital for a blockage the next week and now just still feel pretty shitty.

I am to the point where I wish the doc would just take it out!

my daughter and several friends have it, and it is awful.
i can feel for the 'just take it out' thing, but you do kinda need the damn thing.

as long as possible because one of the functions of the colon is to reabsorb water. You still have healthy areas in the bowel that accomplish this and it's a pain in the ass to have to compensate for its absence.

Still, I know people who opted for colectomy/colostomy who have said it was the smartest thing they ever did, trading sheer agony for a mere nuisance.

I am so very tired of the pain and the constant issues. We have 35 more student/teacher days left and after going to work ill many times, I still ended up in the hospital and will finish the year in deduct again.

Because of the way our checks are set up, each day I miss will equal aroudn 268 dollars every day I miss.

If I could have a colostomy and actually lived more normally I would do it tomorrow!

ha...we had just started to build back our savings and getting a head and now we are back down.

I know the 35 days really isn't a lot but it is a huge mountain right now with the way I am feeling.

However, it's drastic and make sure you find out all about it before you leap into it. Colostomies present their own set of problems as do malabsorption issues.

http://www.ostomy.org/ is a really good place to start.

(who had ulcerative colitis) had a colectomy a year ago February and a take down in June 4 months later. As Warpy said it comes with it's own set of issues but he is dealing with those issues very well.

It is so good to see him healthy. This past winter is the first in the 14 years I've know him, that he hasn't been hospitalized and in very poor health.

for many years. She would swell up like she was 9 months pregnant and her skin actually turned bronze. That was before they really knew what it was, especially up here.

Finally in the 70's she went to a hospital that specialized in bowel diseases and they removed a good portion of the intestine.

It didn't completely solve the problem but it did help a great deal.
