I'm doing my best to get over feeling ashamed, sad and guilty

I was teasing someone a lot in a game I play. I really thought this person had a hide like a rhinoceros and wouldn't be offended or hurt.

Wow, was I wrong! The person said he was thick-skinned but not hard. He kinda read me the riot act about how the jokes were not funny and how I missed a cue (which I really did). I apologized profusely and sincerely and STILL feel like pond scum. I just am not a person to hurt feelings, especially on purpose. I just am not that way.

I know there's nothing you can say, really. I need to learn my lesson (which I have have, in abundance), let it go and go on. Wow, lesson learned.

Give yourself some time to recover from this incident...

You're human. Time will help...

We've all been there. I have incidents where I misspoke, from years ago. It's awful. Be gentle with yourself, your feelings...

And take it from a guy with no tact, I read people incorrectly on the DAILY.

Mistakes were made, apologies were given and communication was had. And that's what's important.

Here I am, a senior senior, and those remarks I made that were out-of-order many years ago come to mind every now and again.

I feel like I will have to put some kind of general apology in my pre-written obituary.
