I just find it curious. I would never wear so many rings, so I wonder why another person would wear so many rings. In the world of psychology, I think you can go further than just because someone likes something. Some cultures, people all follow a certain dress pattern. I can't think of a single instance of seeing someone with bulky rings on all their fingers, so I have never encountered it before. I saw one woman with her whole back tattooed and I wondered why she did that. We were in a taekwondo class together. But it kind of fit her personality, to be on the wild side. I think maybe some punk rock people get lots of tattoos.

A woman of my acquaintance also wears rings on each finger, and I make nothing of it.
She doesn't have a lot in life, compared to the American average, so more power to her.
It's their idea of beauty, and it gives them pleasure or makes them feel good about themselves.

Therapy is a back and forth thing...just ask her. Might be a fun conversation!

I too dislike that look--especially when combined with long long long fake nails.

But, then I'm not a fan of excessive tattoos either where no 'natural' skin remains on arms, chest, neck, etc. ( a few don't bother me, but, well, you know).

If I wear a ring or earrings or a necklace to look nice when I go somewhere, I take it off immediately once I get home. It just bugs me. I would go nuts wearing a bulky ring on every finger.

and take it off after a few hours. Necklaces don't bother me. Earrings are kind of a bother.

Especially for a string musician. I'm not sure he can play guitar anymore because of that accident. Least ways, I've not seen him play. It doesn't take much to hook a ring-bearing finger on something, and often enough, by the time you realize it, it's too late.

This musician wears one ring, a smallish gold wedding band, right where the priest placed it more than 35 years ago - on my right ring finger, figuring I could still pick, strum or bow if something happened to it.

Then you have the Django Reinhardt's of the world. He played guitar with two fingers and a thumb, but he was an amazing exception.

Even for one ring, if you work in a factory. Many, many years ago, (when I was but a wee Dem), I worked in such a place as a quality inspector nights, while going to school days. There were all these overhead conveyors that workers would hang large trays on. One night, a guy was doing that, and got his wedding ring caught. Ripped his finger right off. You saw a lot of rings disappearing from hands after that!

In a normal everyday environment, anything more than a wedding ring is annoying. On a farm, it gets grimed with crap pretty quickly.

one of the findings was that if one twin wore multiple rings, the other (often) did too.

Same with tattoos, elaborate hair styles, and facial hair (beards and mustaches).

Not definitive, of course, but interesting. Fashion choices are not what comes to mind when thinking about inherited traits.

i found the early twin studies fascinating, and they influenced my interest in evolutionary psychology.
many were found to drive the same cars, right down to the same color, marry very similar women, often w the same first name.

i have stack rings on 7 fingers. i would have another pinky ring if i could. but flat rings. i cocktail ring cause i bought the damn thing years ago.
