same as regular soda, only worse.*

*disclaimer - I still drink sugared soda occasionally, half a rootbeer or less with pizza or hamburger. I'm not a total hater

tastes awful, expensive and just outright a really bad thing to do (drink diet soda)...

I so regret that I ever drank any soda (regular or diet)... it is all poison pushed by corporate whores that make lots of money off people who can't afford it (moneywise or healthwise) If I could think of any more really bad things to say about it, I would continue...

I've given up all soda, due to my recent surgery. But I used to drink a lot of diet soda, and I was addicted to Diet Coke. Used to drink 4 or 5 Diet Cokes a day. That stuff is seriously addictive. And I don't think it's because of the artificial sweetener, because I never noticed that addictive quality in other diet sodas.

morning coffee (good coffee - home roasted, French pressed) - then water for the rest of the day - occasional beer or glass of wine in the evening.

Diet soda, products with refined sugar, fatty salty snacks. Impossible to maintain good healthy eating habits with any of them.

Also - think about what you are really paying for. A trace of substances in carbonated water - you are paying for the excessive advertising, for the most part.

And I am getting better, but I think I will always have to have it.

I'm drinking more water, which I have been flavoring with Crystal Light To Go lemonade and fruit punch mixes, but I think I have a sensitivity to those, so I'm not using them much anymore.

Sometimes I just need something with flavor and carbination....

EDIT: Oh yeah...drinking more coffee (black) and tea (unsweetened). I'm trying, I really am...

but intellectually understand it can possibly mess with weight loss, especially with those who are insulin resistant - and that's not even going into the controversy that is aspartame. I try to limit myself to 1 a day, and am trying to switch to things like MIO as a way to wean off of pop. At least then I'm not drinking pure acid even if I am still using artificial sweetners - baby steps right? I also drink a lot of water, but with a meal water doesn't cut it.
