I bought it for him...really I did!

It's a birthday/father's day combo and since he's been making smoothies for years and destroying blenders in his path...I got him a Vitamix, commercial grade. The salesperson said it would be hard for him to ruin it.

He's gone crazy with it! He read the book like he was studying for a final exam or something.

I couldn't wait for the coffee drinks so I have experimented with something between a soft serve ice cream and a frappuccino. My favorite is skim milk, stevia, ice and instant espresso. ZING! I tried one with some really dark, dark chocolate but it was too icy and left bits of the chocolate. It tasted good, though.

I wish I had done this sooner!

Then blend some up with a bit of peanut butter and a splash of milk of your choice. Less milk gives you soft serve banana ice cream...More milk gives you creamy banana milkshake. This is also great with chocolate milk or in a pinch an instant cocoa packet. I sometimes add cinnamon and Pecans. The options are endless.

Next try frozen canned pineapple with coconut milk, stevia and a drop of coconut extract. You can even add rum .....

In the morning, try a bit of ginger, a peeled orange, a handful of spinach and some almond milk.

You made a very, very good decision....

about the fruit but that made me think this was a good idea. I hate having to compost something that got too ripe. Now I can freeze it and use it later!

I have bananas in the house constantly and when they start getting a bit too ripe I peel them and throw them into a big ziplock I keep in the freezer. Frozen bananas come in handy for all sorts of things.

6oz of frozen fruit, 1 frozen banana, 1 cup fruit juice, blend, and you have a smoothie.

We make a green smoothie almost every day. I have to admit that my green smoothies usually turn out blue/purple because I love blueberries. Even hubby is hooked. Enjoy!!

Edited to add my favorite smoothie.
I have to admit that after I tried this mixture I'm having trouble trying anything else.

1 cup frozen blueberries
2 cups spinach
1-1.5 frozen bananas
1 cup coconut milk
1 carrot
1 cucumber (peeled)
ice if needed (especially if fruit isn't frozen)
Optional: I add protein powder and flax seed

YUM!

I've also added celery, but it seems to overpower.

there's a recipe in the book which sounds like a V-8.

I think I gotta get some coconut, almond, and soy milks! Thanks for the recipe!
