And once you get the intestinal distress, I have no idea what to do to make it better, just time I guess.

I don't have any digestive issues with fresh fruit anymore because I eat a significant quantity (~ 2cups) each day. Back when I ate it rarely I'd noticed some, er, side effects.

5. Some say to eat fruit on an empty stomach and wait a while, some say it's not a factor.

It has worked for me. Since the best for my stomach to be empty is in the morning, that's when I eat fruit.

I have usually drink about 3 o 4 cups of water when I get up, followed by a hot drink. Then wait a while to have fruit, as much as I want, although it's usually one or two sliced apples.

Then I have either a smoothie or carrot juice. A while later I usually have half an avocado with protein.

The rest of the day I try to have as many vegetables and if I want fruit, I make sure it's cooked. It eliminated my problem, but everyone's different. Give it a try, it might work for you.

of strawberries I eat in the spring! oh so good....oh so painful, LOL. Eventually, your body will adapt to the increased amount of fiber. So keep eating fruit!

And they were SOOO GOOD! (The local ones, NOT from grocery store. No longer available. )
But the first ? quart/1-3 lb cherries REALLY got to me! Think I'll try the nectarine tonight!
