With sliced butternut squash, sliced sweet potatoes, carmelized onions and garlic, venison sausage, brown rice with summer squash and zucchini mixed in, a 'sauce' made with cream of celery soup, and sharp cheddar cheese melted on top.

It turned out really good and I'm looking forward to the leftovers!

Don't know whether to go with a the old standby favorite burrito or some huevos a la mexicana.

Did the burrito with chipotle cole slaw last night and this morning, after my 15-mile bike ride, I'm going with the eggs and beans. Best of both worlds.

Better half snagged a ride to town. I sent him with a list, but they have very limited supplies, particularly produce.

But I can start cooking again!

He's not back yet (1 1/2 hours each way) and he went with a friend who will probably want to get something to eat, play some pool, so I don't have the grub yet.

So so brownies from yesterday - a little too crusty, but tasty. Crumbled up the last of my macadamia cookies into the mix. Figured a bit of half 'n half would be good. I never get the time or the temp right. Or I don't follow the directions, duh. Baking is my blind spot in the kitchen.
