70's . I'm making Chicken Paillards with an oregano rub, tabouli, green beans in tomato sauce, pita wedges with hummus and baba ghanouj and strawberry shortcake for dessert. There is some leftover rhubarb pie if anyone wants some.

No one ever comes out here to see us other than my family for the holidays, so I'm glad she is making the effort. I haven't seen her in a year!

I'll bet you have a great time. You have me thinking that I would love to see my college roommates from the 70s. Maybe I will settle for a phone call if I can find the number.

This is the first time I've seen you make something other than vegetarian fare.

I picked up some jumbo shrimp from the supermarket this a.m. Not sure what to do with them.

The farmer's market opens down the street for the first time this year. I want to go but I am so well stocked that I really don't need.

Truth is, I just love to food shop.

We've always been in touch. She never left her hometown and I lived in six states before coming home to PA in 2007. So we have known each other since 1971. That can't be!! It seems like yesterday.

I only cook meat if we are having company.... I don't eat it....there will be plenty for me to eat besides the chicken. I make the traditional holiday fare when my family comes.

a week with us.

It was great. It's hard to have another couple in such a small space, but they are easy, easy.

We spent a lot of time cooking and eating, too.

Hope your evening goes as well!

I'm on a cold, cubed watermelon run. Cut fresh and chilled in a container, one melon lasts ~ 5 days for snacks and sides.

Served the Caprese salad w/Thai pepper vinegar about a half hour ago. The crab/artichoke/spinach/cheese dip is in the oven and the baguette is sliced/buttered and ready to go into the oven for toasting.

~cheers, and a Happy Friday to all.

I am so sad, because I had a big old hunk of rare prime rib and mashed potatoes left over from last night's dinner out, and......

I left it at the bar.
