And thank heavens, because it's 87 and very humid here today.

I think I'll have avocado-shrimp-tomato-corn salad, which sounds perfect for a hot night.

I will have to make dessert, however, so I'm thinking a recipe from Alice Medrichs Sinfully Easy Desserts: Pears in Ginger Lemon Syrup.

Best of all, I have everything and won't have to go out in the heat in my black car.

Leftover potato salad, leftover caponata, toasted leftover French bread and a freshly made pork chop. I need the extra calories and I don't want to have to work to get them.

I don't really like tacos that well anymore. But that's what was requested.

beef and potato yellow curry with green peas and onions over rice. we're marinating the beef in cherry preserves, rice wine vinegar, sriracha and salt and pepper. i am very excited

i also have a loaf of bread in the oven and another rising. one for us, the other as part of a gift for a bridal shower tomorrow.

hope you're feeling better

eta: i'm trying your perfect rice recipe out for the first time. better be perfect

my favorite butcher and sugar snap peas in the freezer.

I did make a butter sauce for the peapods, though, hot as it is around here.
