Using some different cheese, so I am a little nervous, but keeping my fingers crossed.

Bread on it's second rise, so it should be super fresh when I serve it. I have some apples and grapes, my favorite dippers after the bread.

And a big BOX of white wine.

Wish you could be here. Looks like it is going to be a good group and there may be some card or dice playing after dinner.

....jazzed up with some more fresh basil. Spent a good part of the day out walking with the border collie, so it's nice to have leftovers. Going to have a hot spell for the next couple of days, so I will be working the night kitchen tonight getting about half a crate of apples processed into sauce while it's cool. I like canning after supper.

Need ideas for tomorrow though! Thanks for starting the thread.

Another neighborhood (6 bungalows in our courtyard) group effort. We all pitched in for the beef and corn, homemade salsa was a "suggested" addition. My neighbor did the grill. All had a bite together then shared the left overs for take home. Simple, low-key. Beef came out great.

and broiled or pan fried just till the eggs are done. Tomato or salsa side fits in great.

Tonight I picked over the last of a baked chicken from two nights ago, browned the stripped carcass and saved the pulled off meat in the refrigerator, then lightly sauteed onion, carrot, celery, garlic and thyme, in the drippings of the carcass, cover it with boxed organic chicken broth and water. That simmered for about 30 minutes and I added a Yukon gold potato diced small, a couple of handfuls of frozen corn and a couple of frozen peas. When that reached a boil I tossed in four handfuls of wide egg noodles, cooked to the minimum time then steamed with the fire off for about 20 minutes. I know everyone here knows how to make soup but this one is really flavorful for having almost no fat. Can't hurt to share.

I get that carcass boiling and leave it on a really long time. I'm not sure how much more that gets out of it, but the smell alone is worth it.

My favorite comfort food.
Had a long day running on only a large smoothie.

Sauteed some mushrooms and baby kale stirred some frozen (from the hatch chili festival time) hatch creme sauce into the veggies and then poured that over a bowl of fresh made tri color linguini.

Oh, that was good!
