Will be off line for a couple days. Going home to my Mom's to attend the funeral of a neighbor who was like a 2nd Mom to me. Her daughter and I have been life long friends.....it's going to be a sad weekend.

It was a great send-off....I'm glad we live close enough that we could be there. My Mom is really going to miss her...they talked on the phone at least twice per week.

I'm doing peppers and eggs for myself. The Farm Box came this morning with a wealth of Italian sweet peppers....So excited!

It was good and there's enough for tomorrow. I've had a cold and feel under the weather.

I'm very limited as to what the doctors will let me take, unfortunately. So I pretty much just have to weather this and hope it goes away fast.

scalloped potatoes and broccoli. Haven't had steak for months and months, and it actually spoke to me in the store today.

I found the recipe on Goya's website. I got a little heavy-handed on the chipotles so it's pretty spicy. Adding a dollop of sour cream on top of the soup before you eat a bowl tempers the heat and enhances the flavor. It's one of our favorite soups.
