Related: About this forumBlueberries from Chile. OK, I know, not local, but ...
they must have a good crop, many stores have had them on sale pretty inexpensively.
Aldi's stores have them $1.69 a pint this week, for those here in the Midwest.
Usually, I find commercially grown blueberries kind of bland, flavorless, but they have been very good.
The best thing about them, they are delightfully squish-able into shakes, smoothies, etc.
I just ate a pint for lunch/as lunch. Worked for me. Lots of anti-oxidants.

(18,505 posts)The small wild Maine blueberries I grew up with are the lowbush variety and very flavorful. The Wyman's brand sells frozen wild blueberries from the very land I used to get mine from.

(9,791 posts)They aren't as tasty as the low bush berries but they're easier to pick. My parents forced my sister and me to go out to pick berries when we were kids. I ate more than I picked and ended up climbing trees rather than pick the darn things.
I love to eat blueberries - pies, muffins, whatever. The best part is they're good for you.
