http://www.farmfreshtoyou.comI am so sick of buying bad produce at the only grocery store in town. A friend turned me on to this site. He has been using it for several months and after seeing what he is getting, I decided to go for it. It's not cheap, but either is throwing much of my produce away.
Today this is what I will get:
4 cnt Capay - Our Farm Murcott Orange
3 cnt Yakima Fuji Apple
2 cnt Yakima D'Anjou Pear
2 cnt Santa Paula Hass Avocado
2 cnt Lamont Green Artichoke
1 cnt Holtville Leaf Lettuce
1 lb Lamont Yellow Onion
1 cnt Brawley Bulb Fennel
1 bu Brawley Bunched Carrot
1 bu Brawley Red Beets
1 bu Laguna Niguel Bunched Broccoli
All locally grown and very, very fresh.
Meals for the next week will definitely be planned around this box of goodies.

(146,218 posts)A group tried to make a go of a small farmers market out here, but the demand is too low to cover their expenses.
So doing this not only meets the needs of the community, but gives the local farmers an opportunity to sell in places they can not go.

(146,218 posts)I did not realize how regional this was, but it makes sense that they should be as local as possible.
One thing about getting this box today is that I am motivated to take special care of everything I got. So I am reading up on best storage techniques and tenderly caring each item.
