At our Indian lunch out on V'tines day, we had an amazing starter - Gobi Manchurian.

Chunks of cauliflower lightly breaded and fried crispy in a sauce of sweet and hot peppers, black mustard seed, ginger, garlic and soy at least. I looked up recipes and found a few that baked the cauli, instead of deep frying. It really tasted like a great orange peel chicken or general tso chicken...but with the cauli instead of the meat. Yum!

It really was one of the best things we've eaten - sweet, salty, spicy, hot, complex - so many flavors happening at once. Anyone here ever tried it at home? I found a few recipes on line - and am going to try the baked one soon.

chickpea flour and fried then served with a yogurt and spices dipping sauce. I like this idea of this sauce. Update on which recipe you tried, please.
