Terrible cold.... feel like hell.

I have some really good broccoli and a butternut squash, so one of these is going to become soup today, if I can get up the energy to make it.

Or maybe I will just send DH out for some hot and sour soup.

Hope you are well.

Thanks for the good wishes, fizzgig. I don't get sick often, but when I do, I am a big baby.

(I'd give you a hug, but you don't want anywhere near me right now, lol)

For a change, I am going to heat it in barbecue sauce. The rest I have frozen and will use to make a bolognese sauce.

Tonight, I am also having a baked potato and a salad.

I love to make a big old roast and eat it for days. Maybe I will do a pot roast tomorrow.

Tomorrow I'm roasting a chicken that will last for several days.

Saw above that you have a bad cold. Feel better quickly.

Fortunately, the weather is warm and I have a wonderful nurse who has been very thoughtful.

How have you been feeling?

I made a roast chicken earlier in the week. Found a great recipe which involved cutting it up and a citrus marinade, if you are interested. We made multiple meals out of it, including some chicken noodle soup, which was exactly what I needed.

I'm planning to just roast the chicken with salt, pepper and fresh tarragon. The citrus sounds good (maybe another time!) but I don't have the makings and no way to get it since I am not driving yet.

Funny thing about the eye is that I never felt bad with it and didn't have any pain. There was some discomfort for a while after the surgery and it still itches. My vision is improved, but I have trouble reading or focusing on the computer screen. Right now, I have the bad eye closed and my face is about one foot from the monitor.

Ran into a friend downtown and went for a drink afterwords. Back home, moved my "to do list" to tomorrow and watched a movie. Really nice time.

Hope you're feeling better.

But not just any sammich. I bought a fresh piece of wild caught salmon and some shrimp. Made a salad of this by flaking the salmon and chopping the shrimp. Added chopped celery & onion, hard boiled egg, and mayo. It needed a bit of sweetening, so I put in a little coleslaw dressing.

I also got a fresh purple grain boule for the bread and some lentil chips to go with. Lentil chips are wonderful, BTW. My new favorite sandwich accompaniment.

cbayer, so sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you return to normal soon.

I've never heard of purple grain bread or lentil chips. I will look for them.

Thanks for the good wishes. This too will pass.
