(175,749 posts)I'm going to cook the chop on top of the stove with salt, pepper and maybe some chives.. Too hot here (96!) to do anything that requires lighting the oven.

(24,146 posts)putting it on hold until tomorrow night, though. my husband's coworker invited us over to grill and the chops are still too frozen (i wasn't planning on dinner for another three hours) to grill, so it's off to the store.
enjoy your supper

Bill has shifted to an even later schedule, so we are adjusting, again, to a new, LATE dinner time!

(146,218 posts)Do you go to sleep then get up when he comes home or just stay up?
I like to eat pretty late, but that's way to late for me.

(31,170 posts)I WAS trying to shift it down to a 1 am bedtime, but that's really out the window now.
My sleep schedule is erratic at best and, fortunately, I don't have to be up any certain time of the day, so I can just go with the flow.
We've been talking about having our main meal before he goes to work, and then he could just have a light dinner when he gets in, but nothing is decide yet.

(146,218 posts)I tend to be a bit of a night owl, but not like you. As I get older, I find I a liking those mornings when I can get up early.
But I am glad you have each other. That's what counts the most, imo.

(24,146 posts)if i cook after work, it's close to midnight before i eat. both options sound good, though. i love breakfast for dinner.

(31,170 posts)We ended up with the tacos tonight!
I don't like eating this late, I'll be up all night now. I'm going to have to figure out a better alternative. It's too pretty here in the mountains to sleep all day and miss the sunshine!

(146,218 posts)We shall see. Not sure what to serve with them, but most likely something from a can, as the produce is running low. I could make a salad with citrus. Actually, I think I will do that.
We had to go out to empty the tank today. If you don't know what that is, you are probably better off. But it wasn't the most pleasant of tasks and my appetite might be a wee bit impaired.
Enjoy your pork chops.

(146,218 posts)That is all.

(175,749 posts)I had considered them since I love short ribs, but wasn't certain that I'd like them Korean style.

(146,218 posts)you marinate something too long.
The spices, OTOH, gave a great flavor.... if only they had been edible.

(175,749 posts)Short ribs are so good that it should be against the law to ruin them.
pinto
(106,886 posts)Browned bell pepper and onion in butter. Tossed in new potatoes, radishes, squash, garlic. Everything cut chunky. Tossed in the pan to coat all. Added milk & water, 2 to 1. Brought to a boil then set to simmer. Spiced with a good dose of black pepper, some thyme & dill, tabasco sauce. Added kale, cubed catfish and portabello mushrooms for the last few minutes. Let set while I made garlic toast.
Literally a playing card chunk of catfish to start with but with all the rest, it was a full house.
