(146,218 posts)It is sponsored by the Ensenada Restaurant and Food Industry and will have food booths from many local establishments.
Will try and take some photos and post about it after I am finished stuffing myself silly.
Sorry you are not feeling well and hope today brings you some relief.

Going to my niece's today to celebrate the triplets' 13th (!!!) birthday , which is actually tomorrow.
On edit: We had roast pork loin, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower in mornay sauce and chocolate cake for dessert.

(106,886 posts)Bought enough bbq tri-tip yesterday for two meals. Diced the second helping, crusty fat bits and all. Sliced the kernels off the roasted corn. Sliced up some asparagus, scallions, napa cabbage, really thin. Added some soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, hot sauce and apricot jam.
Put all in a big pot with vegetable stock overnight.
Will bring to a boil this afternoon, toss in thin rice noodles and sliced mushrooms, turn off the heat and let set.
Looks like a good choice as it turns out - we're completely fogged in here. A nice day for soup.

dad and husband have one more part to swap out on my car and gluten-intolerant sister is out of town, so we're going nuts.

(28,480 posts)Roasted atop the last of our garden veggies: parsnips, beets, carrots and potatoes.
I bought a HUGE pork roast and had to cut it into thirds for it to be manageable for our 2-person household. Last night I cut 1/3 into thin strips, fried them up with cumin and onion and garlic, threw in a can of Ro-Tel tomatoes with peppers and mixed it into a box of mac & cheese (poor man's cheater-Mexican comfort food). Will make a Thai pork/peanut sauce crockpot thingee with the last third in a couple days as the last meal to come out of the roast.

(28,480 posts)We shop at a couple of different discount markets that often have fresh bulk items that need to be used or lost. Once we bought 5 lbs. of blanched mushrooms that had to used within two weeks. It was mushroom mania here for those two weeks: omelets, spaghetti sauces, white sauces, pot pies, pizzas, stews! We got this roast frozen from one of these markets. It was the smallest one they had! But it was so very cheap, I had to get it. Once defrosted, I was pretty locked in to pork-a-rama.

(146,218 posts)so I didn't stuff myself like I thought I would.
We went to the fish market and picked up some halibut. I've never been a big fish eater, but it's so fresh here that I'm going to start preparing it until I find the dishes I really like.
Tonight it will be Hipogloso en Pipian Verde de Ajonjoli (Halibut in Luxurious Green Sesame Mole). It's a little complicated, but I'm having a great time in my laboratory (as my husband calls it).

(106,886 posts)Apparently sesame is also grown in central Mexico and the Yucatan peninsula. Always thought of it as an Indian / Chinese thing.

(146,218 posts)The sauce was amazing and I even liked the fish. It had a very soft texture that appealed to me.

(37,549 posts)Curry because I forgot to add the mushrooms to the lentil curry. The lentil curry was spiced with my yellow curry powder (I make the blend) and the mushroom curry with cumin seed and mustard seed. Then I made rice spiced with garam masala because I forgot to buy pita.
And because I forgot to buy unsweetened baking chocolate, I made cocoa powder brownies.
For all my screw-ups, every single thing I made ended up really good.
