on toasted garlic bread. It's a nice pasty consistency and you sprinkle some cheese and enchilada sauce on it. It's like a black bean boat of goodness.

Oh, and lightly steamed spinach on the side .

Toast the bread, spread some hot refried beans on it and some shredded cheese.
Put it under the broiler until the cheese is exactly like you want it and go for it.

Some guacamole makes a nice topper.

Enjoy!

So I dug in my pantry to see what I had.

Ham hocks in the freezer and split peas in the cupboard!

Voila!

Yummy split pea soup...

No wasabi though.

I think I could eat good raw fish every night. Is that bad?

I'm a big fan of raw tuna, but so long as the whole fish gets used, I don't thing that's bad. I would love to try a tuna collar. It's a 'waste' cut that many chefs now are saying is cool. Fatty, rich, yummy Kama.

The problem is that I live in the desert, so, not likely I'll be tasting such anytime soon.

Had a lunch get together with our old time Public Health crew at an Italian spot.
I had meatballs w/marinara, poppy seed/fruit/mixed greens salad and garlic bread.
So dinner at home was mainly snacking on leftovers.
