(2,016 posts)I like caldo de pata (cow's feet/leg soup).
It's 9:40 am here in SoCal, and I'm making chicken soup for brunch, before the midday heat comes. Why? I just like soup!

(35,688 posts)Just a different kind. I made turkey soup last night and I made the most delicious mistake. I shall repeat this "mistake" again because it resulted in the most delicious looking broth with a deep, rich flavor.
What I did was brown my leeks in butter. I left it on just a tiny bit too long and there were a few chopped leaks stuck to the pan. I was worried I burned them. Who wants burnt tasting soup?
But I hadn't, so I continued with the soup and it turned out to be so delicious. One of the best soups I have ever made.
I am browsing for soup recipes now. Might be back later to post what tonight's creation will be. It is drizzling here, soon to be turned into quite a downpour as the evening goes on: perfect soup weather.

I've decided to make a soup recipe from The Soupbox Cookbook. It's called Bacon, Tomato, and Cheddar Chowder.

(9,833 posts)potato-leek soup leftovers. It doesn't even have any cream or milk. Just a dollop of sour cream and that heavenly blend of leeks, potatoes, celery, cooked in chicken broth and blended with the immersion blender.

(1,451 posts)My husband isn't a fan of leftovers. I can (and did in my single days) make a pot of Chili on Sunday and enjoy it every day until it's gone. Good food is worth eating again...and again...and again

(175,742 posts)It's still good even days later. It's just that I sound like a broken record.
