What's for Dinner, Fri., Oct. 24, 2014

I have two types of squashes that just came out of the oven: butternut and spaghetti.

With the butternut, I plan to make a Mollie Katzen recipe. It is butternut squash-mushroom soup.

With the spaghetti squash, I plan on using it just like spaghetti with bolognese.

One of above for tonight--not both!

we're going to casa bonita in denver (yes, it is a real place), but you definitely don't go there for the food.

I made sure to take some work buddies in. (We were in Denver to open a new retail store.) I told them to enjoy the diving, the atmosphere, but to order the American dishes only. It's a hell of a place, but the Mexican food....nope, nope, nope.

I got a great deal on a ham last weekend. I finally got around to doing the soup yesterday.

I had more of that cheap bacon (that didn't poison me after all) from yesterday, so I chopped it into thirds, wrapped it and some brown sugar around those tiny sausage things and baked them. Unfortunately, they weren't done when I first checked on them, and then I got too busy trying to figure out a wifi networking issue I'm having, and didn't check back on them soon enough. So there was a lot of black burned stuff to eat.

both your dishes sound delish!

We had grilled salmon, roasted yams and spinach salad.
