Cole crops, et al for cooking.

Came to appreciate many of these veggies when I moved to the CA coast. They are common here, almost year round. Wide range of uses across a lot of cooking styles.

(There's a great list compiled at this Wiki site. The other stuff I took with a grain of salt, some black pepper, grated cheese, bacon).

When I was growing up, my mother would cook cabbage to death to the point my dad and I had to vacate the premises until the fart smell cleared out. Broccoli came out of a can and was nasty. I really thought I hated cole crops.

Then I tasted cabbage used in the Chinese way and broccoli that was fresh and branched out to cauliflower and kohlrabi and lesser known regional cabbages. Now I can't imagine not eating them.

And as a wrap. I had some Chinese cabbage leaf wraps at a place in DC that were a knock out.
