What's for Dinner, Fri., Nov. 21, 2014

I'm looking for a recipe for the slow cooker for a lamb steak, and it has to be something different (other than carrots, onion, etc.).

Fortunately, I have a couple slow cooker recipe books.

in a department store back in the 1950s (remember when every department store had at least one nice dining room??) Dad told my 6 yr. old sister and me (age 5) that we were eating baby cows. That ruined me for life. Neither of us has been able to entertain the idea of eating lamb or veal to this day. My sister eats almost no meat. I am still a carnivore, though I feel guilty about it.

Many years ago I loved veal chops until I woke up and since then I haven't eaten them. I also never eat lamb. Had mutton once and it was good but that's it.

I eat meat but try to be selective, I still feel guilty tho.

All I put in it was onions, a whole bunch of garlic, and mushrooms. My housemate who said he didn't like lamb ate two servings.

Dinner tonight will be my one skillet fried potatoes with ham.

don't feel like cooking. Usually top it with butter or olive oil and parmesan.

with S&P and granulated garlic. I really like the overcooked wing tips. (I know, I'm weird.)

Skipping the starch, and will have a simple green salad.

Another take out day, but not a bad deal for the money. And a great dish.

Haven't been cooking much the past couple of days - moved the reefer out into the middle of the kitchen to clean out well (I'll be out of town for two weeks) so it's sort of in front of the stove. Plus, the water heater that sits in the corner behind the fridge needs some work. That will be done while I'm gone, I hope.

rid of what I had before shopping today.

I thought it was ok for the first few bites, then didn't.

But DH liked it, so all was not lost.

I'm not even going to describe it. I have more pride than that.

What cut of meat was this lamb?

I like a roast or leg pink, so the slow cooker wouldn't work for me.
