Sigh. I'll be happy when tomato season arrives, and not just for the warmer temperatures. greatauntoftriplets Jan 2015 #10

Tonight is our bi-monthly dinner at my club, the service organization that I joined last spring.

Dave and his wife Barbara are becoming my good friends, they live here in my new town and Dave was partners with my great uncle back when I was about a year old.

I never knew the man until I appeared uninvited for a dinner at the clubhouse, which is in a city park that was built on my great uncle's former rancho.

Small world!

Anyway, we all visited other city's clubs last night and Tuesday night and we have the best food among the three, so it should be good.

With a spicy avocado salsa verde, green salad and orange agua fresca. Multicultural cooking at its finest..

... white sauce lasagna with bacon, chicken, spinach and garlic.

Even though I like lentil soup, I was getting pretty tired of having it for three days in a row.

Wild rice salad with clementine segments and toasted walnuts, with a dressing of pistachio, olive and sesame oil, baslamic, OJ, orange zest, salt and pepper....served over shredded lettuce.

Still killing the Christmas gift chocolate and other sweets supplies for dessert!

Clementines are such a nice winter fruit. Happily, I didn't get significant Christmas chocolate, though I did eat the Mint Meltaway on the 26th.

I do expect to purchase some from markets that have a selection as I do my various workshops - probably starting on Feb. 4- going to set up some mini tomato tastings!
