Related: About this forumWhich cast iron grill pan is better and why:
A) Circular, 11 inches diameter, grills 3/4-inch apart, 1/2-inch in height
or
B) Square with rounded corners, 10 x 10 inches, grills 1/2-inch apart, 1/4-inch in height
I can only keep one. I'm leaning toward the square one only because I can get a panini lid that would fit it.
Both are Lodge.
Thanks for any input you can offer.

(36,827 posts)If the square one is going to do double duty as a panini rig, it seems like that one is going to be the more useful of the two.

(146,218 posts)I have a square one that is flat on one side and ridged on the other. I use both sides.
Square works best for me.

can you just put foil on a paver or something? or use a bacon press - http://www.amazon.com/Outset-Q112-Round-Shaped-Cast-Iron-Rosewood/dp/B00155SSK8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1423765610&sr=8-3&keywords=round+cast+iron+bacon+press

My advice is to keep whichever one you can find a lid for. A lid that fits properly keeps the kitchen cooler in August.

(2,674 posts)I bought mine years ago and it has served me well. Grilled lots of steaks, hamburgers, and chicken breasts in it and made fajitas with it too.
