(2,016 posts)Got home from work too late to want a full meal. However, today the turkey is in the oven, with the butternut squash.
Broccoli has been steamed. The house smells yummy!

(2,012 posts)soup, carrots, and crackers. Saving up for great food in Mexico next week when my granddaughter is getting married on the Baja beach.
Making a salad tomorrow for a birthday supper. Lettuce, green onions, avocado, toasted slivered almonds, mandarin oranges. Dressing olive oil, vinegar, orange juice, pepper, parsley, sugar, dash Tabasco.

(35,687 posts)A trip to Baja sounds real good right now!
That salad sounds just like one I make. It's delicious with that zip of Tabasco.

(11,916 posts)We'll probably have broccoli and some kind of starch with them, but I'm undecided as to what would go the best. They do have a bit of a kick, so maybe I'll just make plain mashed potatoes. Oh, and fresh veggies/dip as a side and fresh fruit for dessert.

(35,687 posts)They didn't like it:
We are having a lot of fun with the wildlife back here in the woods, so when I roasted tomatoes the other day, I gave some to the turkeys. I also feed them peanuts, sunflower seeds, and corn. Dried cranberries, too, but they're not crazy about them.
There are three or four squirrels who come around, too, and enjoy the corn and the peanuts.
And of course all kinds of birds flock to the bird feeder;this picture is right outside my computer room and I get to watch them while I work.
The turkeys are bold. When they run out of food, they come to one of the French doors in the living room and just stand there until I open the window and put out more goodies.
They know we won't hurt them, so they've become quite friendly. Today one perched him or herself on a wrought iron bench outside my window. Just sat there watching me work.

(50,130 posts)lots of fresh ginger and cha siu with the veggies.
Too much going on here. Sick border collie, a lot of obligations, and spring cleaning is calling me. It's going to be 65 degrees this weekend; I'm hoping to get some time to look at spring flowers and blossoming trees.
There's a sailboat with two dinghy tied up in the little bay. Lots of geese and ducks yammering.
