The Kumato

The article says these are from Trader Joes, but we get them from our local supermarket (Hannaford's). They're really interesting - like a tomato soaked in basalmic vinegar already. Not particularly expensive, and, I think, great on salads and probably a zillion other things I haven't experimented with them in yet.

Curious what you thought. I think it'd be my go-to tomato varient for a BLT. Must make for a yummy BLT.

I'm addicted to "Backyard Beauties" from Maine, but maybe I'll give the kumatos a try.

Surprisingly good, both on salad or just as raw wedges. Very yummy. Worth the small splurge.

I'm a little bothered they're from Mexico, though. But I've got a bright idea to save some seeds and try to grow them in my summer garden.

9. The tomatoes had seeds in them so I thought I'd give it a try.

It's probably a bizarre hybrid and won't work, but the garden space is free so I might as well try. I'll keep you posted.

Nom Nom Nom.

I need to try to grow some of these. So far I only have strawberries, beefsteak tomatoes and eggplant.
