Kind of a guy's meal. Shared with my youngest daughter. So she's into unhealthy too!

Then I spent an hour or so cutting the floricanes out of about a quarter of the raspberry patch. (Floricanes are the second year canes, that have just finished fruiting, and will simply die off soon enough, but if you wait until they do, it's hard to tell them apart from the primocanes which will be fruiting next year.) It really opens up the patch, letting a lot more light and air in. I've got hopes that next year I won't have nearly so many mosquitoes hanging around the patch. Plus, this way I can actually see the beagles when they're in the patch and know they're not back in the compost heap.
