What's for Dinner, Thurs., July 2, 2015

I have a nice piece of pork that I'll cook slowly and then add barbecue sauce.

Cucumbers and sour cream with dill and scallions. I planned that for the other night and it didn't get made.

Rosti, I'm thinking, made with a couple garnet sweet potatoes.

Dessert: either watermelon or pears and cheese; haven't decided which.

Nice to be home--had a long day of union meetings. Time to start the holiday weekend!

Pulled in the garlic today, a rather disappointing harvest, just around a gallon of heads. After I set aside the best for replanting, probably only 3/4 of a gallon for eating. Apparently the winter was rougher than I thought on it.

The dressing is sold as a dipping sauce but works real well as a salad dressing. Sweet and tangy all around.

Oh, cubed watermelon for a finish.

from yesterday. "Everything but dirt" on top, as my Pop would say. Also, a salad of greens.
