What's for Dinner, Fri., Sept. 4, 2015

I'm having two kinds of cold roast pork. One is my pork vindaloo and the other is a rolled pork roast that the RG made for me. This vindaloo sauce is so outrageous.

I was able to pick another round of green beans, so I combined them with what I had already picked and made a large green bean salad using my favorite Mollie Katzen recipe. It called for steaming the beans and then putting vinaigrette over it. The other ingredients are sliced red and orange peppers. It also calls for cubed Swiss cheese, which I did have, but I also added some really excellent cheese the Resident Gourmand bought me. I don't know what it is, but it is so creamy and delicious. Herbs are dill, parsley, and tarragon. It's topped with toasted almonds.

White wine, of course, and some kind of dessert, which I haven't yet figured out. Might just make a trip out for some chocolate. I want white chocolate. Ummmm.

I just ended my first week of teaching for the new semester. It feels great to be back in the classroom, and even greater to have a relaxing weekend to look forward to. I lubs my yob.

with baby reds and corn-on-the-cob.

I'm 7 weeks late for my birthday present to me. So, today's the day!

(Will make a stawk with the shells, too.)

ps: My Yankee accent is coming out again...

tired of field peas, cornbread, red potatoes, tomatoes from the garden. We shelled a huge pile of peas last night and I froze them this a.m. I am running out of space in my freezer.

NJCher, it's so nice to hear someone say that they love their job. I'll bet your students love having you for a teacher!
