Only thing I'm not sure about is the goat cheese. Never had it, not sure if I would like it. Would probably substitute with cream cheese.

(60,010 posts)It is tangy, like Bleu cheese, and little nibbles of it go a long way.
Really really good with chicken salad, and ham is marvelous with goat cheese.
Not too expensive to buy a small amount and test it.
Kind of dry.
I like it.
Cream cheese is too sweet, compared to goat cheese.

(111,339 posts)Use the Montrachet. You won't regret it, I guarantee it. You need a cheese that's sharp enough to bit back with these ingredients.

(7,285 posts)but it calls for fresh mozzarella. I've been really happy with it because I don't like the "tang" of goat cheese.

(11,093 posts)don't replace goat cheese with cream cheese. The only thing in common is texture, but goat cheese will become your favorite. It's not as common as "cow" cheese but that's just because fresh goat cheese has some local distribution issues.
But please please please please don't do it.
Would you want someone here to make a suggestion? (Can't be me, I don't know the nuances between types).
